Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of this website. Browsing a page, reading its content, or using a search feature signifies acceptance of all terms stated below. Anyone who does not agree with them must stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with Trempealeau County, the State of Wisconsin, or any other government body. This site and its advertising partners do not provide services for employment screening, tenant evaluation, credit decisions, insurance underwriting, or another purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site exists to help readers locate criminal-record resources in Trempealeau County and Wisconsin. It is neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This is an independently operated private reference site, not a government office. It does not keep official criminal records, retrieve records for a visitor, perform official background checks, or submit documents on anyone's behalf.

Its function is to identify the agencies and systems that maintain Trempealeau County information, including Sheriff Records, the Wisconsin Circuit Court, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Law Enforcement Services Crime Information Bureau, and the Wisconsin Public Sex Offender Registry. Wisconsin record access is governed in part by the Wisconsin Public Records Law, while Crime Information Bureau searches and reporting fall under Wis. Stat. §§ 165.82 and 165.83. The site may also connect readers with third-party research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of access, you agree not to:

  • Use the site in violation of a local, Wisconsin, or federal law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass another person with information obtained here
  • Rely on site content for lending, hiring, housing, or insurance decisions
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access the pages
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted area
  • Interfere with site operation or prevent others from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool must not be used to stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct is prohibited and can be criminal. The rule is especially important for Wisconsin Public Sex Offender Registry information released under Wis. Stat. § 301.45. Registry data supports public safety awareness. It does not authorize vigilantism, housing discrimination, employment blacklisting, or abuse of a listed person.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer tools designed to assess rental applications, job applicants, insurance rates, or creditworthiness. You agree that information from this site or a linked tool will not be used to:

  • Set insurance premiums or evaluate creditworthiness
  • Screen a renter or applicant for housing
  • Make a decision to hire or discharge a person
  • Assess eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

For a background check used for one of those purposes, contact the Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau or an FCRA-compliant screening provider and follow the applicable official process.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General explanations of Trempealeau County records cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, or Wisconsin expungement rule applies to a specific matter. Consult an attorney licensed in Wisconsin for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All site material is offered "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • A partner search tool will return complete or correct results
  • The pages contain no bugs, mistakes, or security weaknesses
  • The site will remain continuously available without interruption
  • Any information is complete, accurate, or current at a particular time

Criminal-record status can change as charges are filed or dismissed and records are restricted or expunged. Updates may not be reflected at once, so omissions are possible. No content here is an official statement of the Trempealeau County Circuit Court, Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin DOJ, or another government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to court portals, sheriff pages, Wisconsin agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search providers. Following a link leaves this site for a service outside our control. We accept no responsibility for an external service's content, data practices, prices, or availability. Review that provider's own terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, logos, graphics, and code are owned by Trempealeau County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required before copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative material from that content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we have no liability for damages arising from site use, including a decision based on information obtained here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against a claim, demand, or legal proceeding caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Wisconsin law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of this site must be brought in a court located within the State of Wisconsin.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when the updated language is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be changed only to the extent needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
